| This
ranch trip I was all alone, and it was all about getting the fence
finished. The guys had already been at work for over a week, and the
plan was to get it done this weekend (and it did get done). I am very
thankful to finally have a fence, to keep those stupid cattle off of my
land (they really do make a mess). Unfortunately, I had to cough up
$8299.26 (fencing 40 acres is one mile of fence). Due to easements, I
had to set the fence back a bit from the property line, resulting in
5025 feet of fencing (yup, they measured it). |

If
this ain't a flamin' pile of #*%&, I don't know what is! I spent
two full days picking up cow poop, piling it into piles like this one,
and burning it. The cow poop was all over, and it really was a
disgrace. At least now, the areas around the cabin, driveway, and
shooting range are relatively clean.

This is the "walk-gate" at the north-east corner (at the top of the hill, near the roads).

All
of the gates (the two "walk-gates" and the one for cars) have this type
of latch. It slides into and out of the railroad tie (the post).

The
fence is now finished (all of the previous photos were before the fence
was finished). This is from the south-west corner of the property,

This is really cool. This catch holds Nettie's gate open.
