Every year, when Pa&Ma drive down from Minnesota, we meet at the Ranch for a weekend of fun in the (late fall) Arizona sun. I got so excited about the ranch trip, that I caused my family and I to arrive a few days before Pa&Ma. It was really snowy when we arrived, but most of the snow was gone by the time Pa&Ma got there. We went to Springerville, climbed mountains and windmills, cooked hot dogs and shmores, and shot lots of bullets...

Thursday morning. A bit of snow, and a chilly night.

Nettie!

Me!

Our kids!

Me in my super-duper-warm-hat.

Somehow, I look maniacal. I think perhaps this is my normal state.

I'm thinking Nettie took this.

And this too. Our shooting range, by the way.

Aw. Ain't we speshul?

Shooting in the cold.

Somehow, enthusiasm for shooting did not last long.

Button!

This is the boy, on his pedastal.

Our dawg, Miss Jupe.

A snowfight is about to commence.

See?

A snowfight...

Now this is just plain silly.

But that green hat is just plain rediculous.

I should never have allowed this to occur.

SNOWFIGHT!

On a hike in Carrizo Wash.

???

Snow angles.

A sideway pic.

In the wash...

An sunset.

This is what things are like in the cabin at night. Looks like chaos, huh?

We drove over to Springerville. This is a conservation area, along the Little Colorado River, near Springerville.

Foot bridge (duh).

The Little Colorado River, with a few mountains in the background.

Two pretty girls.

We shot bullets. Lots of bullets.

AAAARRRRRGGGG!

The can that Jacob shot up.

Ma shooting my Sig.

???

Pa&Ma brought fresh fish (that Pa caught) down from Minnesota. We fried them up. They were very tasty.

And potatoes. We had potatoes too.

Legos. Jacob was gifted Legos.

Campfire. It was cold out, but we had a campfire anyway.

These next set of photos were taken at Upper Carrizo Well. There are a few old buildings there, and old windmill, and this old water trough, which...

makes a really fun ride.

The windmill is something that must be climbed.

Old chair.

Ma!

The skull of something.

In the old bunk-house.

The old stables and tack shed.

Roo!

More windmill climbing.

Cattle being loaded up.

We also climbed a mountain (well, not really a mountain) that day. Lots of really big sandstone boulders along the way.

At the top.

On the way down.

Sound a "cave".

Hey! Someone is stuck under that rock!

Well, maybe not stuck.

Um. Sky.

Nice quonset.

Sunset.

Boy.

Me.

Dawg.

Me.

Moon.

I'm sure there is a story behind this picture.
