| My
family jus returned from a month in Moorhead about a week ago, so I
decided to take them all up to the ranch for Memorial Day Weekend, so
that I could spend some time with them. We had a great time! In fact,
both Nettie and I think that this ranch trip turned out better than
most. It rained every day, but not ever for the whole day. It wasn't
such a bad thing, either, being stuck in the quonset for a bit. We took
lots pictures, so I'll just start commenting on them, below... |

OK, so this isn't the ranch. We stopped at the cousins on the way up. This big dog is called "Fuzzy Butt".

Here is Roo, shooting Geneva's new firearm.

Mudge, with Mudge's new firearm.

I think this is Roo.

Geneva finally gets to shoot her birthday present. I think she likes it...

This picture has taken somewhere in the wilds of Northeastern Arizona. We had a great hike!

Wandering around somewhere near St. Johns, Az.

FLOWER!

I really like hot dogs (Mooms calls them hot-diggities). I guess Roo does too.

Nettie shootin' her Ruger. This is bad. It means I'll have to clean the thing.

Hike number two. We had to snake ourselves under a fence.

This is Jarvis wash. It is right at the foot of the 'mountain' that we climbed.

This
'mountain' is one of my favorites, because it has lots of interesting
limestone outcroppings. This is one of them. Many pictures of limestone
outcroppings to follow.

Now this is just plain silly. Roo wearing a dead cow's hip bone on her head. What's next?

See? More limestone outcroppings.

Some of the limestone has little caves in it.

Like this one, for instance.

Mooms-on-high...

This
is a picture of God's plumbing. Unlike the plumbing in my house, this
plumbing grows itself, repairs itself when it breaks, and when it is no
longer needed, it returns itself to the soil, so that it can be used to
construct other plumbing. Wish I had this sort of plumbing in my house.

This is the 'mountain' that we climbed.

On Saturday, we went to the Namkungs for a barbeque to celebrate Kristen's birthday...

My
wife likes to take pictures of clouds. There are lots to follow (once
she gets going on the clouds, she takes a while to get over it).

Mooms-nap (this was what we did while it was raining).

I think that the kids set this up for the beetle that Jacon caught.

OK.
Here I am being as foolish as I've ever been (and that's sayin'
somethin'). I am allowing Roo to drive (and smilin' about it too).

Hike Three. This is from the Southwest corner of our property.

Ants.

Somewhere out in the wilderness...

The kids found a 'fort'.

While
on the hike, we saw three antelope. I tried to take a few pictures, and
you can see the antelope, but they are a bit small. Look closely.

A view of our place...

When I got back from the hike, this prairie rattlesnake was under the truck. Cute, huh?

Geneva found this arrowhead in our driveway. This really is a very cool find.

Not sure about these next few pictures. They didn't really turn out.

Jacob did really well with Nettie's Ruger. He got 30/30 shots on the paper (from about 5 yards).

Here's his target...
