Ranch Trip
01/23/2009 - 01/24/2009
This was a really short ranch trip, and the shortness is a really sad thing. I went up north with Meg and Geneva to pick up a pig that I bought from Jason. We had a great time up there, even if it was a short time, we got the cabin all cleaned up, and we filled our freezer with pork. In fact, when I got home late Saturday night, Nettie had to start cooking two hams, because they wouldn't fit in the freezer!

When we first got up to the ranch, we all walked over to Ron's to get some eggs. This was down by "Heidmann Wash". Still a little snow on the ground!

The girls got sent into the chicken coop to gather eggs. I gave them the camera and told them to take a few pictures.

This was our breakfast on Saturday morning.

The girls built this little "hobbit-house" in the dirt.

We played a few hands of Uno after the sun went down.

Saturday morning, I took the girls for a small hike in Carrizo wash. Not much snow left, but enough for this picture.

This is a goodpicture of Mudge.

The girls are in this picture, if you can find them.

I fixed the insulation a bit. It was hanging down a little farther than I liked, so I added a pin and washer, and a little tape. I really with I had thought of standing on this shelf when Pa and I were installing the insulation. It would have been both easier and safer than that ladder.

The girls dug this tunnel. Large enough for both of them to crawl through.

Meg was almost too big to fit through, but she made it.
