Buzz. What a great car. Sadly, like all things on this earth, Buzz came to an end. Buzz's end was a result of the front end falling apart. I was trying to change a half axel, and one thing after another broke. First, the metal ridges inside of the hub (into which the half axel goes) got all messed up when I was taking out the half axel (the half axel got all kiddy-wumpus inside the hub). Next, one of the bolts holding the control arm to the strut got all stripped (meaning I could not detach the control arm). Finally, two of the bolts holding the sway bar in place snapped (inside of the frame). This left me with little choice -- Buzz was done.

You know, Buzz has been a really good car. It served me well for three years. I bought the thing for only $2000, and didn't have to put too many dollars into it after that.

Many trips to ranch were made by Buzz, to say nothing of getting me to work and back every day.

Still, Buzz was called Buzz for a reason. It shook quite a bit at highway speeds, and I was getting a bit tired of that.

Buzz was donated to charity (they came and got it for free).

Goodbye Buzz.

Thanks for three great years!

RANCH TRIP!
What a shocker -- we decided to go up to the ranch. This time, it was over the fourth of July weekend (we always go up over the fourth, it is tradition). On the way in, I thought I heard something scraping the undercarriage of my new car (Cel). What do you know, I did. It was the road (the hump in the middle).

The kids always are let off at the top of the hill to run down.

Jeff joined us on this trip.

My wife took lots of pictures of clouds. My apologies...

The boy on the hill

Pretty sunset. We see these all the time up there.

Awwww.

OK, now this looks just a little too much like Little House on the High Desert.

Nettie shot this (empty) bullet casing from some distance with her pistol. She is a great shot.

She shot this stick too.

More clouds...

My brother brought his family up and joined us for a night. This is his new trailer. He had to set it up at the bottom of my driveway, because that was the only place he could find that was both level and had a hard surface.

Nice trailer

Jess made these drapes. I think they are cool.

What do you do with a bucket of Roo?

Jess and Mudge.

Cousins. They had a great time!

Jess gave us this to spice up the cabin a bit.

I threw this cousin in the trash.Jess

painted the kid's faces before we went to Lyman Lake for the fireworks shows (yes, shows. The first show is all of the illegal fireworks that people bring, the second show is all of the real fireworks).

I threw this cousin away too.

Me and my bro.

My wife took these pictures. I cooked meat and carrots in a hole, in this pot. My wife thinks that this pot is ruined. I think that I can get it clean.

Did she paint her own face?

Even the Namkung kids had their faces painted.

At Lyman Lake.

This was the (likely illegal) fire that I built to cook supper. It worked well. Those dogs tasted good!

Swimming in the lake.

We all decided to hike up to "petroglyph mountain". Since we had little kids along, we drove part way. We had quite a load here.

The shack. We always stop here and take pictures.

It is always fun to shoot. Even the young cousins got to try (with lots-o-supervision, naturally).

What would a ranch trip be without a horny toad?

These two kids and I hiked up to Ron and Sherry's "Multi-colored dirt hill" (well, that's what we call it).

The kids drew these and then shot them.

Clouds, clouds, clouds.

Jeff sacked out. Apparently, he had a tiring day.

I took these kids on a hike up to Percel Well. We had a good time. This was taken in Carrizo Wash. We spent some time playing around in the wash...

At Purcel Well.

Precious Pea holding baby Mudge.

This would be what most people call a "mess".

Nothing demonstrates my crazed state of mind and total lack of sense than does this picture. I actually allowed my eldest daughter, who is only thirteen, behind the wheel. She drove right off the road too (but only once). The problem with this is, now she can't stop talking about driving, and is always asking me to let her drive. This must have been a really bad idea. In any case, my wife took lots of pictures of Roo driving away and lots of pictures of her driving back, all to document my folly.

The driving lesson is over. Please hand me that bottle of Jack Daniels.

I tipped over...

This would be a schmore. Jeff maybe shouldn't be eating this, but it is tasty!

This is Megan's birthday preset, from Jess.

Faking an injury.

We still don't know (as I write this) if this thumb is really broken. We had it X-rayed, but the results are not in yet.

Nettie organized her shelf.

We had a great water fight. It started out small, in the house with a spray bottle. It ended large, out in the front yard with a hose.

Chalked up Roo.

I have to wonder about this picture.

Happy Birthday Mooms! According to the cake, Mooms is now 12 years old, but we all know that really she is 5! Whatever, Happy birthday!

Nettie wanted a close up of the cake. Here is a closeup.

This is why I should not attempt to turn sideway pictures right side up. The aspect ratio gets all messed up, and you end up witha Mooms that looks a lot fatter than she really is, as this picture demonstrates.

When a girl turns 12 (oops, I mean 5) around here, I take her out to a resturaunt and give her a present (sorta like a first date, I guess). Mooms, true to form, chose the "Texas Roadhouse" for the resturaunt, and ordered a huge T-bone (the sacrifices that we fathers must make -- I had to down a large T-bone myself). Also, she is wearing her present (the necklace).

Happy Birthday to Mooms (sing with me), Happy Birthday to Mooms (c,mon, sing), Happy Birthday dear Moomsy, happy birthday to Mooms!

A sideways birthday tree.

The boy built a marble run.

This is why Nettie's chair is always tipped over.

Jeff went crazy and bought all seasons of X-files.

Nettie and the girls did some cleaning, and moved a book shelf from the living room to the dining room. This is part of the process.

See what sort of mess we accumlulate under our shelves?

New "library".

Nettie bought a WHOLE LOT of vegatables to chop up and freeze. I guess these are the knifes to be used.

This is what Laurent called her "One Carrot Ring" (ha ha).

Ninja-carrot-mudge.

This is my mouse. Why is there a picture of my mouse in here?

Cool! New Van. This 1994 Ford Aerostar was donated to us, to be used for the ministry at Westfork. The van was donated by someone to a 501C3 called "Master Plan Builders", who put $2K into it, and then gave it to us (I had to put another $800 into it for new tires and A/C). It appears to be in good shape, but it has a lot of miles on it for a Ford (144K). Hopefully, we'll be able to get a few years out of it, and it will certainly be an improvement over Puke for picking up Church kids. God is good to give us this van!

Don't ask -- I have no idea.

Opa and Oma came to visit! Yeah!
