Here we have Sissy Jupe, our Boxer. I assume that this picture was taken because she fell asleep with her head under the shelf (typical Boxer). Isn't she just precious?

Right. This would be a picture of our roof (and the sun). Aren't we all glad that this photo was included?

The lovely and talented Nettie-Gluton-Flour, with her broom.

Nice hair cut. Laurent gave this hair cut to Nettie. This was the first hair cut Poobie ever gave to anyone. She did well, I think.

The rear-end of the Poobie hair cut.

Just to be sure, we have another picture of Nettie-Gluton-Flour with her new haircut (which was by Poobie, in case you've lost track).

Fancy, Fancy, Dinner Table!

Happy birthday to Mudge! Happy Birthday to Mudge!

Happy birthday dear Mudgy!

Happy birthday to you!

and many more....

No birthday party is complete without the requisite funny faces picture. Here it is.

Geneva is trying to unwrap a present wrapped up by Meg (whose leg is a peg). Megan takes gift wrapping lessons from me, and she is a very good student. It should take Mudgy a while to open this!

Same present, strill trying to open it.

Still the same present. Here, Mooms is holding up Mudgy's hair, so that it won't get caught in the tape.

Here is Mudgy, with her birthday presents. The outfit is from Grandpa and Grandma, the bat and ball (and the shoes you cannot see), are from us.

Jeff Winkler and I decided to go up to the "Initial Point". This is the point from which all land boundries are derived in the state of Arizona (see below). This cool plaque is up there too.

The "Initial Point" is on a hill overlooking Phoenix International Raceway (PIR). This is PIR.

Here is the cross (with the "Initial Point" in the center). The North-South line through the "Initial Point" is the Gila and Salt River Meridian. The East-West line through the "Initial Point" is theGila and Salt River baseline. All townships and ranges are derived from the meridian and the baseline.

This picture is cool because you can see the very appropriately named "Baseline Road" in the background.

The Estrella Mountains are in the background.

Here I am.

Me again.

This is a closeup of the "Initial Point". All land ownership in Arizona comes down to this point.

Homeschool at the Heidmann house. Here is a picture of our curriculum. Not sure why, but here it is none-the-less!

One of the baffles in our fancy washing machine broke this month. This forced us to do our laundry in the bathtub while the part was on order. Here is Mooms washing a few clothes.

Ditto for Laurent.

We had a great trip to the ranch over Memorial Day weekend (05/26/2006 - 05/30/2006).  After supper, Laurent and Megan decided to start playing a game with my dolly. Laurent tied Megan to the dolly, and started giving her rides up and down the driveway. Unfortunately, Megan became too heavy, and Laurent dropped her on her back in the middle of the driveway. Leaving poor Megan screaming in the driveway, Laurent had to run up to the cabin to get me, and I had to pick up my full tummy out of my chair, to rescue Meg.

Poor, poor Mooms.

I wanted to check out a flowing well to the East of us, in an area in which I had never before been. I eventually did find that well, but not before walking quite a ways. It is surrounded by at least 40 acres of really green land. It's a pretty place.

Here are Laurent and Megan next to the flowing well just North of our place. They always want to come here, which would explain the many pictures I have of this place.

Same well, same two girls.

Mudge wanted to go for a "walk" (Mudge does not like hikes -- they are too long -- she likes "walks"). So I took her for a walk. We went up the hill at the Northeast corner of our lot.

Laurent, Megan, and I decided to hunt for some relics off at "Petroglyph Mountain" (that's what we call a limestome outcropping near out place that has lots of old indian petroglyphs). We were successful! See the picture to the right. We found two arrowheads and a couple of pieces of pottery.
