Note: These observations are by
Nettie.
Opa got himself dressed up by his grand-girls - I believe this was his
Sultan outfit.

Megan looks
mighty stylish with that hat and those beads!

Another shot
for good measure.

The Red River
of the North.

The view from
the bridge across the Red River, looking back toward Moorhead's water
tower and Woodlawn Park.

Across the
bridge were many paving signs like this. I had to take a picture
of each one, for that is what we do.

Uncle Jeff
with all four kids, standing by the great pillars on the bridge across
the Red River.

Another shot -
not as good (it was a cloudy day...)

Two shots of
mother (Pauline) and son (Jeff) Holston.

These painted
bison are EVERYWHERE in Fargo and Moorhead... the kids got a big kick
out of them, as you will see...

Even Jeff got
in on the fun.

I think this
one was called "Tigalo"!

This was
Jacob's favorite.

From back to
front, left to right: Nettie, Jeff, and Laurent, Geneva, Megan,
and Jacob (Notice the Statue of Liberty in the background!)

This one is
called "Sam." I thought that was rather unimaginative, but oh
well...

Geneva,
Laurent, Jacob and Megan. By the sign.

In a stroke of
boldness beyond all expectation, I bought some plants (eight in all)
and am trying to keep them alive. I thought I had better record
their existence just in case they go the way of all my previous
horticultural efforts. Here I have two French Marigold pots and
two ivy plants of some sort that seem to be fairly hardy.

A lovely
blooming French Marigold.

Another lovely
blooming French Marigold and a big bush almost ready to bloom pot of
Mums.

One last
pot of starting-to-bloom Mums joins the lonely French Marigolds on the
table.
