From 08/04/2005 - 08/07/2005, we took a break up at the ranch. While there, I found this snake on our driveway. It turns out that this one is a prairie rattlesnake, but it is a young one, since it does not yet have a rattle (the rattlesnake gets one button on it's rattle each time it molts).

Since I was a bit excited to find such a fine specimen, I took several pictures. Here is the next one.

And the next...

And the last. By the way, right before we left, I found another larger snake (with a full rattle), and the same markings and colorings, on the other end of our ranch.

We went on a drive on the back roads with our neighbors (Jason was good enough to drive). We took this picture of the kids while we were on this trip.

Megan finally screwed up the courage to bust a few caps. Here she is!

I was proud of Meg, so I took several pictures.

Go Meg go!

I need to teach Meg that you can aim better with your eyes open!

I took a hike to a "lake" that was on one of my maps. This is about 2.5miles from my place. Pretty green, huh?

These cat tails are about 8 or 9 eet tall!

On my way back from the lake, I scared these six cows (moo) away from their watering hole (also at the lake). Then, they followed me, so I snapped a pic!

Finally (due to high gas prices), I decided to buy a "new" car! This baby is a 1985 Ford Tempo, whom we call "Buzz". We call this car Buzz because it vibrates so much at highway speeds (and pings some). Still, I only paid $2300 (which included tax, license, documentation fee), the car had only one previous owner, and has only 57000 miles on it. Hope it lasts!

This is the front of Buzz. Not bad, huh?
