This one is priceless!

Here is one of the great deceptions of the century. Opa is at a computer, and he looks like he knows what he is doing!

This is at Canyon Lake. We went there with Opa and Oma. We didn't plan to get wet, but alas, see below.

So it begins. We have a long drive back, and it looks like it will be a wet drive.

Looks like Button-boy didn't even bother to roll up his pants.

Splish-splash, I was takin' a bath...

Yes, Jacob, you really are all wet.

And apparently, this does not at all displease him.

At least I can remain calm and dry.

Pretty scenery, no?

I'm starting to run out of things to say here.

Still at the lake, kids still wet...

Well, at least we are all out of the water.

Here is a picture of those present who have at least some Holston blood in their viens (in other words, I was taking the picture).

Here we are in Tortilla Flat, a little tourist trap ghost town sort of place not far from Canyon Lake.

I finally have my face where it belongs.

Looks like Button wants in on the fun.

A chip off the ol' block...

Hangin' by the out-house.

Get ready for a lot of desert pictures. These were all taken in North Maricopa Mountains Wilderness Area. I went out a day early and did a long hike, the flowers were amazing, so I took lots of pictures.

Yellow flowers, yellow flowers.

This is a many headed barrel cactus, and it's even in bloom.

Growing right out of a rock -- amazing!

This is almost on top of a group of mountains.

And the view from the top.

I thought that this was pretty.

This is an ocotilla bush. It gets green when it rains, and otherwise looks very dead.

This one didn't make it.

This is a pincushion cactus.

One of the many little hidden valleys in the wilderness area.

OK. The family has joined me now, and here we are, climbing up a mountain.

Climb, climb, up sunshine mountain...

and take lots and lots and lots of pictures.

Up, up, and away..

Is the last silly climbing a mountain picture?

Here we are on a hike. This was a good resting spot.

Megan, having a rest.

Pa, having a rest.

The girls have found a fort.

Nettie has found a flower patch.

Nettie put me in a flower patch and took a picture.

Took two pictures, I guess.

This is an interesting thing. The thick part is a parasitic plant that grows on the tree.

Here's the campsite.

Some flowers that the girls picked.

Our family, in the desert.

One more, in case the previous picture didn't turn out.

The kids, with Grandpa and Grandma, in the desert.

That ugly stuff just had to come off of that wall (the stuff underneath was even worse -- what were they thinking?).

I have no idea why this picture was taken.

Gettin' ready to paint.

Still gettin' ready to paint.

Have I seen this picture before?

It really was an awful lot of effort to move that weight machine out there. The whole thing had to be taken apart.

This is a blurry picture. Don't bother.

Not only is this a dark picture, but it makes no sense.

Not sure what we were getting at with this picture either.

OK. So we have stuff.

This would be a wall.
